Hypnotherapy
I am a qualified and experienced clinical hypnotherapist with experience of working with people to achieve change in their behaviour and their lives. Being on the receiving end of hypnotherapy can feel like a pleasant guided relaxation, with suggestions added to help you make the changes you would like to see in your life whilst you are relaxed and more receptive. Hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything against your will but can strengthen your resolve to make changes that you are committed to making.
I can modify some hypnotherapy techniques for you to use outside of sessions to help with grounding and managing anxiety or stress. Visualisation and progressive muscle relaxation can be effective as tools to help you day-to-day.
I have specific training in a method called ‘rewind technique’ that can help you overcome intrusive memories that are affecting your quality of life. This can be used to help you process a single traumatic incident or work through a series of events from your past that still regularly intrude in your thoughts.
Hypnotherapy can be particularly helpful for anxiety, confidence-building, overcoming phobias and conquering fears such as public speaking or flying. I have also successfully worked with people who wanted to use hypnotherapy to become non-smokers, work on disordered eating and body image concerns and motivation to make significant life changes.
